Spanish for Hot Weather

Real Hot Weather Spanish from Ben & Marina at Notes In Spanish .

Fuet

My Spanish word of the day is fuet . Fuet is a type of cured pork sausage typical of Catalonia. Ben and Marina at Notes In Spanish have a new YouTube video available in which they show different types of food popular in villages in the Pyrenees.   Here is Ben and Marina's video entitled Spanish Food Extravaganza . This photo of fuet is from Wikimedia.  Katalansky_fuet_Catalan_fuet.jpg (4032×3024) (wikimedia.org)

La Alcega

My Spanish word of the day is la acelga which means chard , the green leafy vegetable. I learned it watching a video by Ben & Marina at Notes In Spanish  about their visit to  Restaurante Horizontal near El Escorial . At the restaurant, Marina orders acelgas rehogadas con ajo y patatas (chard sauteed with onions and potatoes) as her first course. Here is a screenshot of the menu of the day from Restaurante Horizontal. Notice how aclega is written in the plural on the menu. I wonder if the plural form is most often used.  And here is the video from Ben & Marina at Notes In Spanish.
