My Spanish word of the day is la acelga which means chard , the green leafy vegetable. I learned it watching a video by Ben & Marina at Notes In Spanish  about their visit to  Restaurante Horizontal near El Escorial . At the restaurant, Marina orders acelgas rehogadas con ajo y patatas (chard sauteed with onions and potatoes) as her first course. Here is a screenshot of the menu of the day from Restaurante Horizontal. Notice how aclega is written in the plural on the menu.
